The HRCR Midlands Region 7th ‘Derbyshire Dales Drive’ was held on Sunday 2nd June 2019.
We again started and finished at the Pavilion Gardens in Buxton. From the start the route passed over Mam Tor and along the Vale of Edale before reaching the superb views over the Hallam Moors. Coffee was taken at the Abney Gliding Club, but unfortunately there wasn’t much flying to see on account of the weather. The lunch halt at Carsington Water was reached via Beeley Moor, Rowsley and the Via Gelia. In the afternoon the route passed through Tissington Ford where the Tissington well dressing was underway. It then passed Throwley Hall and along the Morridge ridge road. There was the option of taking an extra 20 mile loop through Hartington, but otherwise returned to Buxton through Flash.
Most of the entrants enjoyed the day despite rain over the Southern half of the route.
Some of the photos taken by Rocester Camera Club are available to view on the “Gallery”page.
We look forward to see you all again next year.
